Reality Check Time - What will your candidate will cost you?

You have seen the speeches, the debates, the promises for change. It all sounds good. Things aren’t so great, we need change.
Your candidates have even decided what you need change in. Often it is forced err universal healthcare. Buy it or we will force you to get it and take it out of your paycheck. Too bad it was never that easy. Do politicians think people are skipping healthcare to save up for a Jaguar or something? They have no money to buy overpriced healthcare. They don’t fix why it is overpriced just make everyone get it.
The fact is there is a $9.2 trillion federal debt. Lame Duck Bush just proposed a $3.1 trillion budget that would bring a record $400 billion deficit in 2008 and 2009. This is insane. This is like you or I making $27,000 a year and spending $31,000 a year and doing it two years in a row despite overspending for years. But we are getting off topic with my rant.
How much will your candidate cost us? Well here it is:

New Spending Proposed by 2008 Presidential Candidates

Candidate

Total Proposed Spending Increase
(Annual, in Billions)

Clinton

$218.2

Giuliani

-$1.4

Huckabee

$54.2

McCain

$6.9

Obama

$287.0

Paul

-$150.1

Romney

$19.5

Thompson

$56.1

Notice that Ron Paul is the only current candidate that would actually lower the cost of government. The only one that is interested in attempting to be responsible with your families money and your future. Everyone else is a drunken shopoholic in a Chinese shopping mall, with a friendly Chinese bank next door giving us more loans. Well at least right now they are giving us more loans.
And remember these numbers are the conservative estimates that the National Taxpayers Union thinks these programs will cost. And from the cost of the Iraq War we all know how good the government is with budgets.

Funny, I see a -1.4 for Guilani. That looks like a lowered cost, even if it isn’t as big a cut as Paul’s.
