When do we vote for president?

There are basically two main votes for President.

The first vote is for the Primaries for the different parties. The two main parties are of course the Republican nor GOP and the Democratic or DEM party. They sometimes have primary votes on the same day in the same state. For example in 2008 on Super Tuesday which Happened February 5th these states had votes for both Republican and Democratic presidential nominees: Alabama ,Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Utah

When is the primary vote in my state?

So when is that vote?

Well it depends on your state that you live in, and are voting in. But please check Rock the Vote website for more information.

During the primary election vote the candidates are trying to get to the needed numbers to win their parties nomination. Then later they will have conventions to name the candidate to represent them in the general Presidential Election.

Then from late summer to November the two main candidates, and any other parties candidates will campaign for the final vote.

When is the final vote for President?

That is scheduled to be held on November 4th, 2008. There are many other Congressional, Gubernatorial, and Propositions that will be voted on that day as well. Expectations are for voter turnout to be very high.
